Vintage Georges Briard 22kt Gold Golf Lowball Tumblers
A distinguished addition to any golfer's bar. These mid-century lowball tumblers are the work of Georges Briard, the Ukrainian-born artist whose gold-embellished glassware became synonymous with the gracious entertaining of the 1960s — carried by Neiman Marcus, Bonwit Teller, and the most discerning hostesses of the era. Each glass is decorated with an allover pattern of 22kt gilt gold golf clubs — irons, woods, and putters scattered across the glass in Briard's characteristically loose, painterly hand — punctuated by white enamel golf balls. The gold remaining in excellent condition. A conversation piece before the first drink is poured.
Georges Briard (1917–2005) studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and built his reputation hand-drawing designs on glass blanks before licensing his work to major manufacturers. His pieces are among the most collectible examples of mid-century barware.

Vintage condition: We carefully select only examples with gold in excellent to near-excellent condition. The gilt strings on Briard glassware are the first area to show wear, and while we do our best to carry only the finest examples, minor wearing on the string detailing may exist consistent with the age of the piece. All photos are of the actual glasses available. For additional photos or questions, please contact hello@iheartmarblefox.com.
